Why we built Drooi

Wānaka is a small town. Everyone knows each other. If your dog goes missing, your neighbours want to help. The problem is there was no good way to let them know quickly.

Facebook groups work sometimes. But posts get buried. Not everyone checks them. And there was nothing with a map, nothing that sent a proper notification, nothing built for this specific problem.

So we built Drooi. It started as a lost and found tool and grew from there. Now it also connects pet owners with local walkers, sitters and groomers. But the community side is still the reason it exists.

Starting in Wānaka

We are starting here because this is home. We know the town, the trails, the people. If it works here it will work anywhere in New Zealand.

We are growing slowly and on purpose. No rush to be everywhere. Just trying to be genuinely useful in the places we are.
